December 2021 NFM CoP – Funding for NFM

On the 1st December 2021, the NFM Community of Practice (CoP) revisited the topic of ‘Funding for NFM’ in a virtual working session. After reflecting on the monitoring questionnaire completed by members, and discussions with the steering group, December’s meeting explored funding avenues for NFM.

The aim of the event was to:

  • Raise awareness of NFM funding opportunities / channels for COP members and ensure members know how to apply for, engage with and access funding.
  • Provide guidance / advice on how monitoring can be included and costed into funding applications
  • Funding hackathon – a working session within the COP event. Members focused on specific NFM project ideas. The hackathon session was designed to encourage and help those with project ideas to secure funding through; gaining advice from others, increasing knowledge on funding avenues and providing opportunities for collaboration.

The event was split between two working sessions:

Session 1 – a series of presentations (linked below) to raise awareness of funding opportunities and channels for CoP members. This session provided information on how to apply for, engage and access funding.

Session 2 – a ‘funding hackathon’ on specific NFM project ideas.
