December 2024 – Broughton Hall Estate – Beaver Event and Call for Sponsorship

Our Autumn CoP meeting at the Broughton Hall Estate was a resounding success. The event centred on beaver reintroduction for natural flood management and biodiversity enhancement. With engaging presentations, a site visit to the beaver enclosure, and a lively panel discussion, attendees gained valuable insights into this innovative approach’s practicalities, benefits, and challenges.

Topics discussed included:

  • The role of beavers in mitigating flood risk and enhancing ecosystems.
  • Funding opportunities and community engagement strategies.
  • Ethical considerations and future directions for beaver projects in Yorkshire.
