Ryan Urquart

Training Co-ordinator Blue Green Infrastructure Programme

Ryan has joined the iCASP team as the Training Coordinator of the Blue Green Infrastructure Training Programme and support the West Yorkshire Flood Innovation Programme in addressing the need for skills training and capacity building within flood risk management and resilience across the region.

As an undergraduate, he studied journalism before working in the sports data and media industry. After joining the University of Leeds Business School in 2016 to complete an MSc in Consumer Analytics and Marketing Strategy, he spent time as a postgraduate researcher within the School of Geography and Leeds Institute for Data Analytics. His research interests were data science and spatial analysis whilst working with commercial partners. During this time he was involved in supporting undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as contributing to the running of the Leeds Data Science Society.

Previously Ryan was a Data Science Teaching fellow for the Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) where he worked on their annual short course training programme. He is looking forward to the opportunity to continue supporting education programmes.
