Understanding the methods to Value Ecosystem Services

This workshop, part of the iCASP Confluence 2018, introduced some basic principles and methods for valuing ecosystem services. It used the example of one of the on-going iCASP projects, which focuses on how to estimate the benefits of peatland restoration. Participants heard about the engagement process taking place to ensure that the information on methods for valuation of ecosystem services meets the needs of practitioners. They also had a chance to compare valuation methods.

The workshop leaders, Julia Martin-Ortega and Marie Ferré, are now keen to hear from the iCASP network if anyone wants to explore how valuation of ecosystem services can be of use in other fields of work.
